|Animal ID: A31638667Ben (male)|
3-year-old Ben was a lost dog found by Animal Control. He appears to be a Rough Coat Collie mix, although more importantly what we do know is that he is simply a wonderful dog. This laid-back fella loves everyone and is the epitome of what 'going with the flow' looks like. His gorgeous, thick black coat makes him a standout in any crowd. Ben is a herding dog who is sensitive and intelligent, has an his undying loyalty and amazing ability to foresee his owner's needs. He is an ideal family dog and companion. Visit Ben at our Adoption Center open Monday through Saturday 10a to 5p. All animals will be spayed/neutered at time of adoption. Contact the Adoption Center at the Greenwood County Animal Shelter at (864) 942-8775 or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-04-05-00656Winter (female)|
Date into Rescue: 02/25/2016 Reason for being in rescue: stray from local shelter Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Yes, Winter is currently on a two week trial of medication for arthritis in her back. She is scheduled to see the vet for a recheck on 3/29/16 and will update any new information. Weight: Height: Adoption Fee: $125 Fence needed? no What kind of home would be best for me? Winter would love to find a permanent home with a nice quiet family where she can live out the rest of her life peacefully and comfortably. What is my personality like? Winter marches to the beat of her own drum, and she is a quirky independent dog. She is much more of a 'lone wolf' than a member of the pack. She is surprisingly active for her age and likes to walk freely around the kennel rather than sleep the day away in a crate. She also enjoys sitting outside in the fresh air on nice sunny days. Winter gets along well with other dogs but prefers the company of older mature dogs. She can get a little ornery with overly energetic pups, and growls at them if they bump into her or get too close to her back. Due to Winter's back issues, she is more sensitive to the touch and appreciates gentler handling and petting. How I act when I first meet new people: aloof; slightly curious House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: est 10 years so est birthdate 2/25/2006 Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Collie Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Collies, or Rough Collies, are loyal, devoted, and protective dogs. Most Collies are excellent companions for children. Collies are natural herders and may nip at people's heels when they are puppies. Collies respond well to gentle obedience training. Collies are best suited to loving families with a decent sized yard but can adapt to apartment life. Collies are easy to housebreak.
