|Animal ID: 16-12-12-00128Amber (female)|
LOOK AT THOSE EARS! Amber is an adorable mix of corgi (those ears!) and smooth collie. This 1-year-old is energetic, so she needs a fenced yard to run or several walks a day. She's also highly intelligent, so would be ideal for agility events and other athletic pursuits. Because of her high energy (and we believe lack of early socialization with other dogs), Amber needs to be an only dog. (No cats or other small furry pets, either.) She walks well on leash, loves to rides in the car, is crate-trained and house-trained. Amber is spayed, is up to date on vaccinations and negative for heartworms and tick-borne diseases. Her adoption fee is $200. Apply for Amber online at www.savethestrays.org. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 16-08-22-00398Tanner (male)|
Date into Rescue: 6/1/16 Reason for being in rescue: Found as a stray in rural central NC Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? heartworms - Tanner is on the 'slow kill' heartworm treatment. He will be adopted with one year of heartworm preventative to his adopter. Weight: about 55 lbs needs to be 65 Height: about 25' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes, or a very good exercise plan that takes his heartworms into consideration and a plan to stimuate his brain regularly. Tanner is a smart quick learner, and a regular training program would be a great way to positively channel his energy without overexerting his heart. He already knows the sit and down command! What kind of home would be best for me? Tanner would prefer an only dog home. He is a very people oriented dog and wants your full attention! Tanner would love a home on a farm with room to roam and explore, chase a few chickens, and bark at some cows. He is an active dog that likes to be entertained. He likes a good game of chase and its funny to watch his lanky self run goofily around the yard. He loves hard chews like cow hooves or bones, and they keep him busy for hours. What is my personality like? Wide open and happy How I act when I first meet new people: Friendly and affectionate House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: estimated 2 years, birthdate 6/1/2014 Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. |Rescue Me ID: 16-08-04-00318Colby (male)|
Meet Colby! Breed: we believe retriever/collie mix Age: approximately 10-12 months Size: about 40ish pounds Training: Crate trained, we are working on leash training and he is doing much better, he still needs guidance. Dogs/cats: Colby gets along great with dogs and cats. He does fantastic with other dogs and we recommend his new home to have another dog or two to show him the ropes. Reason in rescue: Colby was surrendered to a shelter along with his siblings as a young pup. Colby was very timid upon his arrival. He has come so far! He is still a little shy with new people and new situations. Colby does best with other dogs, he seems to look to them for guidance. Colby needs a home with a fenced in yard. If you are interested in adding Colby to your family, please message us to get the adoption process started. (Less)

Collie Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Collies, or Rough Collies, are loyal, devoted, and protective dogs. Most Collies are excellent companions for children. Collies are natural herders and may nip at people's heels when they are puppies. Collies respond well to gentle obedience training. Collies are best suited to loving families with a decent sized yard but can adapt to apartment life. Collies are easy to housebreak.
