Rescue Me ID: 14-12-07-00371COOPER (male)

Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet the good looking COOPER! He is almost a year old and would love to celebrate his upcoming birthday with his own family. Cooper was just 3 months old when he and his siblings (one being Cleotis who is also up for adoption) were saved from a San Antonio kill shelter. He was labeled a German Shepher mix, but we believe him to be more of a lab/collie blend. Since Cooper has grown up with the pack here at the rescue, he is extremely dog socialized and a very confident young pup. He is puppy energetic and loves to chase and play with the other dogs. Cooper is very loving and affectionate and never passes up the chance to have his belly ... (Read More)rubbed or his ears scratched. Cooper is dreaming of an active family that is looking for a young dog they can train and take to lots of places letting him experience the different sights, smells and sounds the world has to offer. He does walk happily on a leash but needs more training as any one year old would. Cooper is great with kids, as long as they respect his boundaries and understand, that dogs too, need time to be left alone. We do not have cats in rescue so we cannot say how he is with them. However, he is still young and could be taught to leave them alone, if he shows to have that 'interest'. Cooper is neutered, current on his vaccines and micro chipped. He recently tested negative for heart-worm and tick-borne-disease. He is a healthy 51-55 pounds and we think he should stay around this weight. Cooper (and don't forget his brother Cleotis) is available for adoption through Give a Dog a Home, German Shepherd Dog rescue. We are located in Devine, south of San Antonio, in the high kill state of Texas. Our adoption fee is $170. We do offer our dogs for adoption to safe and loving families that live along the East and West Coasts. We use professional transportation companies to ensure their safe arrival. (Transportation is an additional fee of $175-$200.) Our application can be found on our website under the application tab. On behalf of Cooper (and brother Cleotis), thank you for looking and he hopes you are the family he's dreaming of. (Less)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My brother and I need a new home because our owners have become disabled and can no longer care for us. We are 7 years old and have been together our whole lives, so we need a home where we can stay with each other forever. My name is Daisy, and I'm a 7 year old Lab/Collie mix who weighs 45lbs.Right now I am in a shelter, which is very confusing because I've always been in a loving home. Please help me and my brother find a safe place to call my own. My owners say that I am super sweet and friendly. I get along great with everyone I meet, and I am also fully housebroken. I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-19-00301Lilly Wellsville (female)

Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lilly was born about October 31, 2008 and weighs about 80 lbs., but could stand to drop a few, we'll be working on that. She is the nicest girl, just easy to get along with. She's great with the other dogs and has done well with children as young as 6. She is house trained, good on leash and did fine on her hour long car ride here. She is having a good time here, fit right in, and decided to make the best of it. She is here due to her humans moving, it was not the best of environments. She's good here, but will be waiting for you to come along and offer her a new, normal, home that wouldn't dream of giving her up again.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-18-00525Jax Owen (male)

Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jax was born about November 5, 2013 and will probably top out in the 60 lb. range. At the pound he was listed as something other than collie, but look at that face! Maybe it's greyhound even, something with a skinny face and tons of personality. He was surrendered to a high kill pound when he was only a couple months old, we have no other information. He was probably just a typical puppy and they had no clue how to raise one. We Recently found out that he adores going into the pond! He's a very good Swimmer! He is wonderful with the other dogs and seems to love everyone he meets, we are very happy to have him. So, adoptions have been ... (Read More)strong and we had room to rescue 29 dogs and 3 gorgeous cats from a high kill area. Not one complained about the long ride and all have settled in nicely. Many of them seem to have understood, right away, that they were now safe in our Dog House with fresh blankets, lots of Science Diet food, automatic waterers and even toys! It gets a little confusing when getting files ready for so many at once, so if a breed, size, age seems questionable with the photos shown, please let us know. We are doing the best we can to save as many as we can. We so appreciate your understanding and willingness to adopt a dog we know little about that would have been dead, within a few days, if they had not come here. We always test out of towners for heart worm. (Less)
