Rescue Me ID: 14-10-19-00301Lilly Wellsville (female)

Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lilly was born about October 31, 2008 and weighs about 80 lbs., but could stand to drop a few, we'll be working on that. She is the nicest girl, just easy to get along with. She's great with the other dogs and has done well with children as young as 6. She is house trained, good on leash and did fine on her hour long car ride here. She is having a good time here, fit right in, and decided to make the best of it. She is here due to her humans moving, it was not the best of environments. She's good here, but will be waiting for you to come along and offer her a new, normal, home that wouldn't dream of giving her up again.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-18-00525Jax Owen (male)

Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jax was born about November 5, 2013 and will probably top out in the 60 lb. range. At the pound he was listed as something other than collie, but look at that face! Maybe it's greyhound even, something with a skinny face and tons of personality. He was surrendered to a high kill pound when he was only a couple months old, we have no other information. He was probably just a typical puppy and they had no clue how to raise one. We Recently found out that he adores going into the pond! He's a very good Swimmer! He is wonderful with the other dogs and seems to love everyone he meets, we are very happy to have him. So, adoptions have been ... (Read More)strong and we had room to rescue 29 dogs and 3 gorgeous cats from a high kill area. Not one complained about the long ride and all have settled in nicely. Many of them seem to have understood, right away, that they were now safe in our Dog House with fresh blankets, lots of Science Diet food, automatic waterers and even toys! It gets a little confusing when getting files ready for so many at once, so if a breed, size, age seems questionable with the photos shown, please let us know. We are doing the best we can to save as many as we can. We so appreciate your understanding and willingness to adopt a dog we know little about that would have been dead, within a few days, if they had not come here. We always test out of towners for heart worm. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-17-00746Billy Bonadio (male)

Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The Bonadio Group, 171 Sully's Trail, Pittsford, NY sponsored the transport that brought 40 dogs north out of a high kill pound in TN. How high kill???? Well, while Katie was busy making the very difficult choices she has to make down there, she accidentally entered the wrong door and there was Emma a healthy, young, medium sized, black girl who was on a table, tail just a wagging not minding that her arm was being shaved, while enjoying all the attention she was getting from a couple of the staff. Little did she realize that the needle that was now 2 inches from her arm was going to stop her heart from beating and her tail would never ... (Read More)wag again. The procedure was STOPPED and Emma was immediately loaded in the truck! We also took George who was next in line because they couldn't afford to treat him and he was painfully thin. We are working on George and hope that it is only worms and we'll be able to make him better. He is one really sweet boy and we love him already. We also took a pretty, really sweet, Cocker named Sammy who has massive ear infections, one eye is turned rather inside out and the other looks odd so he will need some very special vet care, but we have him in the best foster home for the blind and he's happy as can be. There are 37 others with their own stories, but these are the three heart breakers so far. The staff at his shelter do the best they can and truly love these dogs but their resources are incredibly limited. Thank you Bonadio Group, an accounting, business and financial services firm providing audit, tax and business consulting services, for making this trip, which runs about $800.00, possible!!!!! All dogs from the south are heart worm tested, but they cannot be tested until they are about 6 months old. So, if you choose a puppy from this group you must keep that puppy on heart worm 'preventative' at least through it's 7th month just in case it is carrying the larvae. As for Billy, his personality is next to none, very sweet. He was born about September 1, 2013 and will weigh about 65 lbs. He is wonderful with other dogs and did fine on the ride here. He is wiggly, happy, and ready to play and snuggle. Smile his way and he almost smiles back! This is all we know so far, we'll be learning as we go. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-13-00764Kukla (male)

Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kukla, Fran & Ollie were born about July 16, 2014 and will probably weigh somewhere in the range of 35 lbs. like their mother, Cinnamon Collie and 65 lbs. like their father Jack Collie. They are rather chunky so probably they'll be on the higher side of the father. These gorgeous pups (please understand we do not adopt siblings together) came to us with several large scars and/or wounds on them!!!! We immediately put them into a foster home where they are receiving tons of touching and love and it only took a couple of days for them to forget the past and turn into happy, healthy, healing, loving, funny, normal puppies. Now they are ... (Read More)ready to find new homes of their own. Kukla, Fran & Ollie are with us along with three other dogs due to finances. A woman's two brothers died and then her father died and she took in all the pets. She had no transportation out of her very country home so we did have to take the trip to pick up the dogs. We are so glad we did and that we went the same day we were calle (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-13-00727Dusty Rum-Springer (male)

Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Dusty was born about March 17, 2013 and weighs about 60 lbs. He is house trained, good on leash and will hang with you off leash while you do your chores. His tummy gives him some trouble when he rides, but if he is taken more and more he should adjust along with, perhaps, a benedryl. He loves the other dogs and would like to have one in his next home. He is said to be a little rough with cats, not aggressive, but if there was a dog to play with he'd probably be just fine with a cat. Who wants to try to play with a cat when there is a fun doggie pal??? He is not a big barker and it only took about a day for him to fit right in. ... (Read More)Toddlers make him nervous (me too!) so a home with older children would be important. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-12-26-00170Valentina (female)

Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet Valentina is looking for her forever home! Valentina is a loving, active adult mix breed. The best guess is cattle dog mix, with some thinking collie or corgi as her other background. She is about 45 pounds. Valentina loves long walks, playing outside, and most of all being a love bug. Her favorite pastime is kisses and belly rubs! Ideally, she would find a forever home where she can stay active and receive lots of love. Since she was a stray, we don't know a lot about her background and past living conditions, but once she gets to know the humans in her life, she is very trusting. As for other dogs- she is comfortable with them out ... (Read More)in the open and playing outside, but would be best to be in a home with no other pets. Valentina is totally house trained, walks well on a leash, and knows several commands. Please contact me directly if you are interested. Potential adopters will have to go through the rescue group's application process and pay an adoption fee, which goes towards the dogs' initial vet costs, etc. (Less)
