Rescue Me ID: 14-11-23-00362Purty Girl D'Angelo (female)

Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I'm From Tony's First Transport! This transport sponsored in memory of Tony D'Angelo, a Joyful Rescues adopter that passed away unexpectedly in the summer of '14. Tony loved the good work done by all the people at Joyful Rescues and the idea that great dogs were being saved and being placed into great homes. He was inspired and comforted by his visits to Joyful Rescues, but also wished that more dogs from high kill shelters had the chance for life. His friends and family wish you all the best as a Joyful Rescue adopter ! Purty Girl was born about November 3, 2011 and weighs about 45 lbs. True to her, silly, name this girl is ... (Read More)PRETTY! Thankfully, she's not one of those girl that are all stuck on themselves, her personality is just as wonderful as her looks!!! She is just happy, fun, funny, and has a love everyone way about her. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-22-00500SHELBY (female)

Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This cutie is SHELBY and she is a Collie/Shepherd blend. She is a lively, happy and confident puppy that was saved out of shelter in the high kill state of Texas where she was suffering with a skin condition. Shelby is now safe in a private rescue. She tested negative for mange on two separate occasions, so an allergy and under-nourishment is most likely the cause. Since SHELBY has been with us, she has thrived. Her itching is getting less and less, and her hair is growing back nicely. Shelby will need a family that has time to guide and train her in having manners and appropriate behavior as she grows up into a smart, stunning ... (Read More)adult that she is to become. Shelby is spayed, up to date on vacs, and micro-chipped. Because she is too young she has not been tested for heartworm but she is on monthly prevention. Sweet little Shelby is dreaming of being home for the holidays with her own loving family safe in the Northeast. We will transport her via Rescue Road Trips, which is included in her adoption fee of $335. If you are the family to make Shelby's dream come true, contact us straight away for an adoption application. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-19-00301Lilly Wellsville (female)

Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lilly was born about October 31, 2008 and weighs about 80 lbs., but could stand to drop a few, we'll be working on that. She is the nicest girl, just easy to get along with. She's great with the other dogs and has done well with children as young as 6. She is house trained, good on leash and did fine on her hour long car ride here. She is having a good time here, fit right in, and decided to make the best of it. She is here due to her humans moving, it was not the best of environments. She's good here, but will be waiting for you to come along and offer her a new, normal, home that wouldn't dream of giving her up again.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-18-00525Jax Owen (male)

Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jax was born about November 5, 2013 and will probably top out in the 60 lb. range. At the pound he was listed as something other than collie, but look at that face! Maybe it's greyhound even, something with a skinny face and tons of personality. He was surrendered to a high kill pound when he was only a couple months old, we have no other information. He was probably just a typical puppy and they had no clue how to raise one. We Recently found out that he adores going into the pond! He's a very good Swimmer! He is wonderful with the other dogs and seems to love everyone he meets, we are very happy to have him. So, adoptions have been ... (Read More)strong and we had room to rescue 29 dogs and 3 gorgeous cats from a high kill area. Not one complained about the long ride and all have settled in nicely. Many of them seem to have understood, right away, that they were now safe in our Dog House with fresh blankets, lots of Science Diet food, automatic waterers and even toys! It gets a little confusing when getting files ready for so many at once, so if a breed, size, age seems questionable with the photos shown, please let us know. We are doing the best we can to save as many as we can. We so appreciate your understanding and willingness to adopt a dog we know little about that would have been dead, within a few days, if they had not come here. We always test out of towners for heart worm. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-13-00734Fran (female)

Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Kukla, Fran & Ollie were born about July 16, 2014 and will probably weigh somewhere in the range of 35 lbs. like their mother, Cinnamon Collie and 65 lbs. like their father Jack Collie. They are rather chunky so probably they'll be on the higher side of the father. These gorgeous pups (please understand we do not adopt siblings together) came to us with several large scars and/or wounds on them!!!! We immediately put them into a foster home where they are receiving tons of touching and love and it only took a couple of days for them to forget the past and turn into happy, healthy, healing, loving, funny, normal puppies. Now they are ... (Read More)ready to find new homes of their own. Kukla, Fran & Ollie are with us along with three other dogs due to finances. A woman's two brothers died and then her father died and she took in all the pets. She had no transportation out of her very country home so we did have to take the trip to pick up the dogs. We are so glad we did and that we went the same day we were called. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-12-26-00170Valentina (female)

Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet Valentina is looking for her forever home! Valentina is a loving, active adult mix breed. The best guess is cattle dog mix, with some thinking collie or corgi as her other background. She is about 45 pounds. Valentina loves long walks, playing outside, and most of all being a love bug. Her favorite pastime is kisses and belly rubs! Ideally, she would find a forever home where she can stay active and receive lots of love. Since she was a stray, we don't know a lot about her background and past living conditions, but once she gets to know the humans in her life, she is very trusting. As for other dogs- she is comfortable with them out ... (Read More)in the open and playing outside, but would be best to be in a home with no other pets. Valentina is totally house trained, walks well on a leash, and knows several commands. Please contact me directly if you are interested. Potential adopters will have to go through the rescue group's application process and pay an adoption fee, which goes towards the dogs' initial vet costs, etc. (Less)
