Collie    Age: Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mia is 7-9 months old and was purchased by a breeder for a college student. When the parents checked up on her, they found her to be in her crate 20 hours a day! They took the dog away from their son and unbeknownst to them put her in what they thought was a safe shelter. This shelter will kill animals for space and time and because Mia is an owner surrender her time is up very soon. The shelter staff absolutely love this puppy and so they've extended her time. She is house trained and very lovable and affectionate. Since Mia is a puppy she does not understand young children and will nip at them and bark and growl! We will not adopt her to ... (Read More)a family with young children however ages nine and up will be fine. Also she makes a beeline for the cats and we haven't given her the chance to figure out if it's play or aggression so we will also say no cats to be safe. She is a playful dog. She is only 7 to 9 months old and is completely vetted. All she needs now is a home with a family who will love and adore her! She will be available anytime after Saturday with an adoption commitment (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-17-00510Logan (male)

Collie Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Logan is a very sweet and gentle Collie/German Shepherd mix who was found at a local truck stop frightened and without a collar. Logan is perfectly trained (sit, stay, come, wait, paw....), walks beautifully on a leash and watches carefully for instruction. This lovely boy wants to please and is very intelligent and observant. He is housebroken and great with other dogs. Logan loves walks and is very calm and happy during car rides. Logan needs a family with a stable home and people who have time to give him the love and exercise he needs. This lovely boy is a rare treasure. Logan is 57 pounds and is neutered and vaccinated. His ... (Read More)foster mom says he is a wonderful, sweet dog - knows all the basics commands, very loving. Loves her dogs and cats, will make someone a great companion. Update from his Foster Mom: ''He is such a gentleman! He is fully trained, knows all his commands. Is fully housebroken, ignores my cats and is great with my dogs. He lays down when in the house and sleeps, but LOVES to walk and even jog next to me and is fantastic in the car. He is affectionate and loves to chew bones and squeaky stuffed animals but doesn't chew anything inappropriate. He is the best! If you know anyone looking for a dog, he is perfect! Now that he is comfortable with us, his skittishness on his walks has dissipated and he even stays next to me, in my yard when off leash. He loves my husband as much as he does me, so great with men and women. He is such a sweetheart and deserves a forever home.'' (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-06-10-00439Barkley (male)

Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Barkley was found as a stray and his owner never bothered to go to the shelter to look for him. He was matted, dirty and dragging a chain that looks like one that attaches to a stake. Barkley had BIG tight mats on him the size of baseballs! His teeth look like he was fed table scraps and in bad shape. It was so bad it was thought he was 10 years old but in fact he is only 2-3 years old. The thought of this dog having spent his life on the end of a chain in this condition is so sad. While Barkley was under anesthesia to be neutered, we also got a dental cleaning done for him and had the big mats shaved off so it would be less painful ... (Read More)for him. Barkley weighs about 54 pounds and can stand to lose a few pounds probably because he has had no exercise and eaten a poor diet. He is experiencing new and different things that he never has before and is excited now that he is off the chain. Barkley seems to not be bothered by cats, gets along with other dogs and loves attention from people but not so much from kids.
