Rescue Me ID: 18-06-12-00389Rascal (male)

Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

** Special Needs ** Rascal is finally available for adoption!!! After months of recovery and surgery this sweet and beautiful 10 month old special needs boy is finally ready to go home!! This little man has overcome a lot in his short life so far. Born with a birth defect he developed megaesophagus, meaning he could not keep his food down. With the support our AWESOME supporters, he had surgery to correct the birth defect. He is now doing great! Even though his disorder is so much better then it was he still has some limitations. He will still need to be fed with his front end upright and will require someone dedicated to his feeding ... (Read More)schedule and needs. Rascal eats a blended watered down dog food soup up to 4 times per day. We are happy to show his adopter how he likes it and it's really not hard at all. Just dog food, water and a blender! Unlike other Mega E patients he drinks water fine, and does not need to stay up right after eating for periods of time. We would not recommend heavy play after eating for any dog but this is his only real no no. Rascal is a total lover!!! He loves just about everyone that he meets. Is is great with people an dog and kids. Due to his high energy level we would not recommend a home with small children cause he likes to jump on you for kisses and will take out a little one in the process lol. He loves other dogs and running around outside and he is full of energy. He would love a running partner or maybe someone to go hiking and exploring with. He is definitely not going to be a couch potato type. He is an oversize puppy who would love someone to work and train with. He is still down south at our sister organization and is ready to come to NJ anytime! If your interested in this sweet boy please email us at southernpawsrescue@gmail.com for an application. (Less)
