|Rescue Me ID: 15-01-15-00573Creole (male)|
Creole, a yearling male Collie/ greyhound (our best guess) mix- heart worm negative and mightily underweight @ 33pounds. Creole spent 4 months at the animal shelter, invisible in plain sight, and was skinny as a broomstick and thrumming like a tuning fork the day he entered his foster home. At first, nervous was his default setting and he was shell-shocked but he is coming out of his shell and is visibly more relaxed with each new sun that rises. He is long legged, with a deep chest and narrow waist- the physique of a coursing dog. A grasshopper lightness to his gait, he is lithe, svelte, graceful and moves with the fluidity of fast flowing water. His medium length coat, the color of sea froth on wet sand, is soft as a whisper. In his foster home he mixes well with the resident canines and will be a great running companion for his foster mom (insider hint- put your $$ on the dog!) whom he shadows closely as though tied to her shoelaces. The poster boy for optimism in the face of adversity- Creole. To arrange a meet and greet, or for more information on this beautiful boy please text his foster mom at 225-205-9330 All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Collie Dogs can make good pets in Louisiana if they match your IifestyIe. Collies, or Rough Collies, are loyal, devoted, and protective dogs. Most Collies are excellent companions for children. Collies are natural herders and may nip at people's heels when they are puppies. Collies respond well to gentle obedience training. Collies are best suited to loving families with a decent sized yard but can adapt to apartment life. Collies are easy to housebreak.
