Rescue Me ID: 17-01-23-00311Piper (female)
This is Piper. She is almost 4 months old. She was surrendered to the shelter because of a health problem with her owner. Her purchase records show she is a Husky/Collie mix. She is a major lover with LOTS of energy. She does have two different color eyes (one blue and one brown). Her owner said she was 'housebroken for the most part'. She will need a very active home that can keep this young lady busy. She never sits still for the most part and she needs to learn her manners. Beautiful young lady who will be spayed, current on all shots and micro-chipped prior to going home. She is ready for adoption this week.

Rescue Me ID: 17-01-07-00218Jax (male)
Jax is a border collie/collie mix with a lot of energy. He loves to be outside and loves belly rubs. He is somewhat trained in regards to bathroom, eating, fetch, hand shake etc. Jax suffers from major anxiety and is not fond of little kids and strangers. He is protective and shows a lot of kennel aggression. He is best suited for a family with no children. He has been assessed and has been said that he is very trainable but needs someone who has the time to do it. He will most likely never get over the anxiety towards children.

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-28-00353Bear Lee (male)
In this photo, Bear Lee was getting ready to go meet the pack here at the rescue! He was very excited. We were pretty sure he would do great but we like to introduce with a leash, just in case. Bear Lee did great! He likes to play and we have to get him to take it easy sometimes because he gets so excited. He loves playing with Zoey, the sheltie. Bear Lee loves people and greets everyone that comes in. We are working on him not jumping on people. Bear Lee came to Second Chance after living on a farm. He just would not stopping chasing the chickens and the cows. So...if you don't have chickens or cows, Bear Lee could be the dog for you! He is leash trained and is doing great with housetraining. Bear Lee is a 1 year old Patterdale terrier mix. The previous owner believes his papa might be a collie but they are not sure. Bear Lee is taller than a full Patterdale but has the other characteristics. Bear Lee's adoption fee is $225.00. If you are interested in adopting Bear Lee, please complete the adoption application at http://www.secondchancedogrescueofiowa.com Thank you! (Less)

Collie Dogs can make good pets in Iowa if they match your IifestyIe. Collies, or Rough Collies, are loyal, devoted, and protective dogs. Most Collies are excellent companions for children. Collies are natural herders and may nip at people's heels when they are puppies. Collies respond well to gentle obedience training. Collies are best suited to loving families with a decent sized yard but can adapt to apartment life. Collies are easy to housebreak.
