|Animal ID: 851Xena (female)|
Xena Collie X Female 6 months 30 lbs. (and growing! Est. full grown at 50lbs) Hi everyone! It's Xena here, putting out the word that I'm ready to become a part of some lucky family out there! How can you resist an offer like that? Even though I am just a big ol' puppy learning the ropes, my foster mom says that I am one smart cookie! I come when I'm called, and I'm really catching on to potty training, and am even learning how to sit (which is no easy task seeing how much energy a young gal like me has)! I absolutely adore meeting new people and I am such a friendly, happy girl! I also enjoy having little ones around (they are great at giving me belly rubs!) and I would be an excellent addition to a home with young kiddos. As for other dogs, I can be a bit shy with them at first but in no time at all, I'm playing and having fun. I haven't met any cats yet, but I'm so friendly and outgoing that I think I'd love them too! I'd definitely want to meet any cat friends before adoption, though, to make sure I'd be a great fit. And after a long day of all that high energy playing, there's nothing like crawling into my crate for a good night sleep! So as you can see, I'm quite the catch and just ready and waiting to start my life with some lucky family! So don't be shy, fill out an application on the PawsCo website at www.pawsco.org. (Less)

|Animal ID: 805Carter (male)|
Carter Great Pyrenees / Collie mix Male 9 years old 70 lbs. Hi there! I heard you were looking for a new roommate. Well, feel free to call off the search because I have everything you could ever want in a companion-and then some. Looking for someone who won't 'borrow' your shoes for a chew toy? Done-I am respectful of all belongings, both in and outside the house. Need a roomie who respects a clean space? Check-I learned a long time ago that marking is only to be done outside. Interested in finding a good listener, someone with whom you can share your hopes and fears, worries and joys, or just office gossip? Double check-well, actually only a single check because I only have one ear. But let me tell you, you will not find a more sympathetic ear in the whole wide world! So what am I looking for in a roommate? First, I would love someone to share in a good meal. If you hold up a treat, I even know how to stand up to reach it in order to save you the trouble of bending over. I aim to please! Second, since I love being around my people, someone who is comfortable sharing their room is ideal. Now, not to worry, I will not ask that you make room in your bed for all 70 snuggly pounds of me; a soft dog bed at the foot of your human bed is perfect. Oh, you didn't realize that I was a dog? Silly me for not mentioning that! Yes, I am a dog of the Great Pyrenees mix variety, which means that I will never argue with you over rent, steal your toothpaste, or leave the toilet seat up. In addition to getting along with humans of all ages, I am a great friend to other cats, dogs, birds, squirrels, fish, and all other sorts of creatures. Now, I should note that, while I would love to be your hiking buddy for great Colorado adventures, I have a little hitch in my giddy-up. I have dysplasia in my elbows, but my good friends at PawsCo made sure to get me diagnosed by a vet, and I just need to take some meds to help with my 'bows! My foster Mom calls me her 'Zen dog' as she says just looking at my sweet face takes away all her stress. She is my 'hero human' for giving me such love and helping me find YOU, my 'forever family.' To start our forever story today, just email my pals at PawsCo at email@example.com, or fill out an adoption application on their website. (Less)

Collie Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. Collies, or Rough Collies, are loyal, devoted, and protective dogs. Most Collies are excellent companions for children. Collies are natural herders and may nip at people's heels when they are puppies. Collies respond well to gentle obedience training. Collies are best suited to loving families with a decent sized yard but can adapt to apartment life. Collies are easy to housebreak.
